I'm Angie Morales

Miami-based nutritional therapy practitioner on a mission to improve my health, one meal at a time! I believe you've gotta build your health from the inside out.

Before I had kids I ate pretty healthy, was moderately athletic and had no complaints physically or emotionally. Then I had my three babies and blamed my lack of energy, moodiness, weight gain, "pregnancy brain", getting sick often, and other issues on “hormones”. And while a lot of that is true, I knew there had to be another reason I didn't feel great inside.

At the end of 2015 I went to my doctor and he put me on an elimination diet, explaining that my body had been fighting certain foods I was eating, even though I thought they were “healthy”. Within a month or two I lost about 17 lbs and my "brain fog" started clearing up, but my digestion was still off and I was still tired, like ALL.THE.TIME! I became stagnant, recreating "healthy treats" which led me back to craving sweets. Then I tried the Whole 30 program, which is a paleo-type of elimination diet that reprograms your mind to enjoy nutrient-dense, real foods while cutting the sugar cravings. THIS WAS LIFE-CHANGING!

.

My body responded to this program well and I started to see changes in my health. I was reversing my health conditions and losing weight by only using REAL FOOD! This ignited my curiosity for how food affects the body and my passion for nutrition was born! At the time, I was a newly divorced single mother starting my business as a personal chef in 2017. However, I didn’t want to just cook food for my clients. I wanted to cook the foods that were beneficial in supporting their unique bodies and goals! So, I decided to pursue my passion in nutrition by attending the Nutritional Therapy Association and I became a Functional Practitioner in 2018..

I applied my education to helping my personal chef clients achieve their goals using “food as medicine”, while coaching other clients on the side. Though it was very lucrative and fulfilling, I couldn’t help but doubt if I was cut out to be an entrepreneur! So, I quit cooking and became a concierge for Whole Foods Market, overseeing their Provisioning and Catering program in 2019. After a year in that role, I was promoted to Assistant Manager of the Produce department. The job was very demanding and was conflicting with the schedule I had with my children - being a single mother and only having them 50% of the time, this was cutting my time with them even shorter! The stresses of the job seeped into my homelife and I had to reprioritize!

My children were sent home for 2 weeks at the beginning of 2021 for being in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid. This meant I had to take a leave of absence from work and wasn’t getting paid for it! So, while I stayed home with them and had nothing but time, I offered some nutrition services and made more money during those couple of weeks than I did in a whole month at work! I took that as a sign and made the jump! I quit Whole Foods Market and partnered with some old classmates from my Nutritional Therapy course. Together we help people regain total body balance through foods and supplements, and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!
